Welcome to The Cheshire Fishery, a purpose-built haven for the modern carp angler.
Nestled in the heart of Astbury, Cheshire, our 3-acre day-ticket fishery was designed with one goal in mind: to provide a high-quality, tranquil environment where the fish and the surroundings are held to the highest standard.
Dug out and meticulously landscaped in 2016, the complex has been allowed to mature for nearly a decade, creating a thriving ecosystem that officially opened its gates to the public in the summer of 2025.
With limited swims across our 3-acre expanse, you’ll never feel crowded. Whether you are a local Cheshire angler or traveling from further afield, you will find a clean, professional, and well-maintained site that respects both the angler and the environment.

We pride ourselves on the health and calibre of our residents. This isn’t just another “runs water”; it is a destination for those chasing genuine quality. Our carefully managed stock includes:

At our fishery, we bridge the gap between “club-level” exclusivity and “day-ticket” accessibility. Because our lake was stocked back in 2016 and left to thrive, the fish are hard-fighting, healthy, and accustomed to their environment.
If you want to fish for quality carp in a peaceful, secure, and picturesque Cheshire location, your next PB is waiting right here in Astbury.
The Lake offers a choice of nine well spaced pegs, 3 of which are doubles.

All bookings are done directly through the fishery. You can contact us via our Facebook page Messenger, text, or WhatsApp. You’re welcome to give us a call to discuss your booking, but we will always ask you to follow up with a message stating the full names of all anglers, the date of your session, and the duration. This just ensures we have it in writing, as we don’t always have the diary right in front of us!
Swims are chosen strictly on a first-come, first-served basis.
Yes, if there’s a free swim, you are more than welcome to move. However, if you drop a bucket in another swim to claim it, you need to move immediately. You cannot bucket a swim and then take three hours to finally make up your mind!
We primarily enforce the 12pm-to-12pm rule during busy periods. If the lake is quiet, we are very flexible—there’s no problem arriving earlier (e.g., 8am) or leaving later on your departure day at no extra cost. It might be that you pay for a 24-hour session but end up doing 36 hours, which is absolutely fine!
However, it works the other way around, too. For example, if you book 24 hours starting on a Friday and we are fully booked on Saturday, you must be off the lake by 12 noon on Saturday—even if work meant you couldn’t arrive until 5pm on Friday.
Yes, guests are welcome at no extra cost.
Children aged 14 and over can fish for carp, but they must be doubled up in a swim with an experienced adult (as per our standard rules). However, because the lake contains Perch, we have no issue with younger children having a go with a float rod and maggots at no extra cost. (Note: While we ban maggots/worms for carp fishing between April 1st and November 1st, this rule does not apply to kids float fishing for Perch).
Yes, we have a portaloo available.
No, the use of drones is strictly prohibited.
